Susan is an experienced administrative assistant with more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry. She spent the majority of her career working for one of the Triangle’s top performing developers, Duke Realty. Her construction knowledge, sound decision-making ability and her willingness to be a team player are major attributes for DCI.
Susan has worked with every aspect of construction from the project start to the completion and close-out process. She has experience providing support to construction managers and coordinating tasks with subcontractors. She is knowledgeable of building permit process, contracts, and organizing/maintaining project files.
At DCI, Susan is responsible for handling the majority of the administrative tasks of the company and keeping everything organized among the team.

Ben excels at fostering client relationships & ensuring that planning, design and construction processes flow smoothly. His 12 years of construction experience, ranging from custom homes, greenfield sites and multi-million dollar hospital additions, enable him to manage a broad range of project types and understand the PDC process from multiple perspectives. Ben’s commitment to his projects and his extensive experience in the industry are a huge asset for DCI and continue to drive the company’s success.
Early in his career, Ben was a project manager for Scott Long Construction. While working there, he developed skills to handle the day-to-day demands of the construction management process, and more importantly, he learned how to interact and maintain positive relationships with each client. Ben’s unique ability to manage projects, as well as create strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers and consultants, provided a solid foundation for his career.
Prior to joining DCI, Ben spent time managing capital project portfolios for Children’s National Medical Center and Duke University Health System. While Director of Construction at Children’s National, Ben built and managed a construction department capable of handling the hospital’s dynamic construction initiatives. Ben’s responsibilities expanded when he joined Duke. As a Senior Project Manager, Ben provided oversight and management of a $400 million portfolio that included large additions at both Duke Regional & Duke Raleigh Hospitals.
Ben is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Technical Graphic Design & Communications. Additionally, Ben earned a dual Master’s Degree in Building Construction and Business Administration from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and a past secretary/treasurer of District III for the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association.
