David Parker, PE
Jim is a real estate and construction executive with 21 years of experience in design, development and construction. As president of DCI, he specializes in assembling a team of outstanding design and construction professionals along with coordinating and managing all aspects of design, entitlement and construction. He is especially skilled at building effective, productive working relationships with clients, which allows him to clearly understand and address their needs.
Before starting DCI, Jim performed program management, preconstruction and construction management duties for over 17 years while occupying several positions at Duke Realty in both the Raleigh and Indianapolis offices, including serving as Director of Design and Construction. During his time at Duke, he was integral in developing nearly 5 million square feet of office and warehouse product across the country.
Prior to joining Duke, Jim was a Design Professional and Project Manager for Woolpert in Indianapolis where he honed his skills in site design and civil engineering. This experience gives Jim significant insight into site challenges and outside the box solutions required to make the toughest sites developable.
Jim is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and Indiana, a LEED ® Accredited Professional and a licensed General Contractor.
David brings invaluable insights and experience to DCI. He has worked in development and construction management for nearly 20 years with a unique perspective on how to efficiently manage large-scale projects.
Prior to joining DCI, David was a Preconstruction Manager at Duke Realty where he was responsible for preconstruction and construction management. During his tenure at Duke, David acquired significant experience in conceptual estimating, scheduling, design, entitlement and construction of high rise, office, medical and industrial projects along with land and property acquisition and disposition.
Before his time at Duke, David was a Project Manager for Shimizu North America where he was responsible for industrial and automotive construction projects. The complex engineering projects managed with Shimizu created a strong sense of analytical and logical thinking that he applies to every project.
As part of his duties at DCI, David provides the technical leadership for design, installation and commissioning of building systems required to meet today’s emphasis on energy efficiency and occupant health and well-being.
David is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, a LEED ® Accredited Professional and a licensed General Contractor.
